Wodonga is a small town in the southeast of Australia, right on the border between New South Wales and Victoria. It lies 300 kilometres northeast of Melbourne city centre.
This suburb has been recognized as an area since 1825 by colonial settlers and, at this point in history, was originally named Woddong-gangah (which later became known as The Border District). This has then changed to its current name during World War I due to anti-German sentiment that swept through much of Australia at this time.
Wodonga’s landmass sits among plain terrain and contains three primary rivers: Broken Creek running from the west towards east past Mount Beauty; Kiewa River runs northwards up into Bogong High Plains; Mitta River flows southward down from Torryburn Valley.
In Wodonga, the climate is classified as humid subtropical, with 125.1 days of sunshine a year on average and great weather conditions, generally speaking.
